Accessibility Statement

Equal service for every person, online and on the road

This page sets out the full picture of accessibility on our site and in our service: what tools are available to you, what has already been made accessible, what has not yet, and how to reach us about anything related to accessibility.

Our commitment

Taxi Lev HaAretz treats accessibility as a core value rather than a technical requirement. We believe every person, with a disability or without, deserves the same ability to book a ride, understand the price and receive a full service independently - without relying on others and without feeling they are getting a different service.

This site was built to be accessible from the outset rather than retrofitted. We continue to test and improve it, and every message from a customer helps us do that better.

The accessibility toolbar

On every page of the site, in the bottom corner, an accessibility button opens a toolbar. Your choices are stored in your browser and carry over to other pages and to future visits:

  • Increase and decrease text size across five levels, from 90% to 135%.
  • Grayscale display, for anyone sensitive to colour.
  • High contrast - white text on a black background with yellow links.
  • Inverted contrast - a full inversion of the site colours.
  • Bright background - dark text on white with blue, underlined links.
  • Highlight links - an underline and an outline around every link on the site.
  • Readable font - switches to a plain typeface with wider letter and word spacing.
  • Large cursor - enlarges the mouse pointer into a bold shape with a dark outline.
  • Reset - clears every setting and returns to the default display.

Accessibility features on the site

  • Full keyboard navigation across every page, with a clear indicator of the focused element.
  • A semantic, hierarchical heading structure so screen readers can navigate the page.
  • Alternative text for every image, and descriptive labels for buttons and links.
  • High colour contrast between text and background throughout the site.
  • Full support for browser text enlargement with Ctrl and the plus or minus key, or Command on a Mac.
  • Compatibility with the common browsers - Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari - in their current versions.
  • Full responsiveness on mobile phones and tablets, at any screen size.
  • Forms with clear labels, marked fields and verbal error messages.
  • Plain, clear language without unnecessary jargon, written in both Hebrew and English.
  • No blinking text, no automatically rotating content and no self-playing media.

Accessibility of the service itself

Accessibility does not stop at the website. The service itself is adapted too:

  • You can book through whichever channel suits you - a phone call, a WhatsApp message, email or the online form.
  • With advance notice we can provide a vehicle with room for a folding wheelchair, including driver assistance boarding and alighting.
  • Certified guide dogs are welcome in every vehicle in the fleet, at no extra charge and with no special approval needed.
  • The dispatch desk is staffed by people rather than an automated system, and you can get a detailed explanation of the route, the vehicle and the price before departure.
  • The price is given in advance verbally and in writing, so there is no meter or display to read at the end of the ride.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts to make every page and component accessible, parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible or may not reach the required level.

The site may also include third-party content or components - such as maps, videos or analytics tools - whose accessibility we do not fully control.

We continue to work on ongoing improvement, and we would be glad to hear about any problem so we can fix it.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you run into a difficulty or an accessibility fault on the site, please tell us. So we can locate and fix it quickly, please include the following details:

  • A description of the problem in your own words.
  • What you were trying to do when you ran into the difficulty.
  • The address of the page where it happened.
  • The browser and version you are using.
  • The operating system of your computer or device.
  • Any assistive technology you use - a screen reader, magnification software or an adapted keyboard, for example.
